WhatsApp Is Testing Companion Mode On Android Tablets

Finally, WhatsApp companion mode is undergoing testing. Information about the functionality first surfaced online a few months ago. As usual, WABetaInfo found this and told us that the feature is being tested on a small number of devices right now.

If you're not sure what companion mode is, it's a function that lets you use WhatsApp on several devices. Up until recently, your smartphone was the only device you could use to access WhatsApp. There were alternatives, like WhatsApp, but these required constant internet access on your smartphone.

The ability to sync messages on WhatsApp Web without an internet connection on your phone has recently been possible. However, you may use a single WhatsApp account on as many as four devices thanks to the buddy mode function.

Tablets With WhatsApp Companion Mode
Users have struggled with using WhatsApp on tablets, but the companion mode fixes that problem. All you have to do is use your primary device's camera to scan the QR code, as demonstrated in a screenshot given by WABetaInfo.

You will need to open WhatsApp and navigate to Settings whenever the update becomes available in the future. To use WhatsApp on your tablet, go to the section for paired devices and scan the QR code there. You could add your tablet or a backup phone so you can use WhatsApp the same way you do on your main device.

When utilising WhatsApp web, we have occasionally run across a syncing and transmitting problem. We hope that these problems have been resolved and that messages sync flawlessly. Otherwise, while using WhatsApp on another device, you will get a delayed or no notification.

It's possible that WhatsApp Companion Mode won't have all the functionality available when the main device launches. But the fundamental messaging and E2EE encryptions ought to function properly. Unlike the desktop app version, WhatsApp online still only lets you send messages and share media; you can't make calls yet.

Try the most recent beta update if you want to test out the buddy mode feature. To do that, though, you must sign up for the beta programme.
